Custom Retail Shop Labels
A sales floor is rebuilt every few weeks: a new floor set, a seasonal wall, a clearance table that grows after a holiday. Printed shelf strips peel, sticker labels leave residue on the fixtures, and handwritten signs look like handwritten signs. Our labels are solid 3D-printed parts with heavy white lettering on a solid color field and exposed N52 magnets on the back, so they look like part of the fixture and move in seconds when the set changes.
Where magnetic labels earn their place on the floor
Gondola shelving is steel, and so are most slatwall brackets, grid walls, display risers and the metal shelf edges on wood fixtures. That makes the sales floor a natural home for a magnet: a New Arrivals or Best Sellers label on the shelf edge, a Clearance label that follows the markdown table around the store, a Local or Handmade label on the maker wall.
Behind the counter, label the register drawers and the cubbies underneath: Bags, Receipts, Gift Cards, Returns, Hold, Pickup. A customer order on the Hold shelf gets found on the first try, and a new cashier closes the register the same way the manager does.
Do magnets stick to gondola shelving and slatwall?
Gondola uprights, shelf edges and back panels are steel, so the exposed N52 neodymium magnets grip directly and hold through a busy Saturday. Grid walls and the metal brackets on slatwall are steel too. The magnets sit on the surface with no plastic layer in the way, so the label does not slide when a shelf is bumped, and it comes off cleanly with nothing to scrape.
Wood shelving, acrylic risers, glass cases and aluminum frames are not magnetic. For those, choose the 3M VHB adhesive backing in the builder. It is semi-permanent, so use it on fixtures that stay put, and keep magnets for everything that moves.
Fitting rooms and apparel sizing
Apparel shops lose the most time to size sorting. Label the go-back rail and the stockroom-side rail by size, Size S through Size XL, and the fitting room return rack with Try On and Returns, so recovery after a rush is a sort, not a search. Department labels, Men's, Women's, Kids, Accessories, read from the door.
The labels are PLA plastic, so keep them out of a sunny display window in July and away from heaters; a damp cloth or mild cleaner keeps them looking new. Lettering is part of the printed label, not a sticker, so it does not peel or fade with handling.
Color coding the store
Heritage Black looks like signage on most fixtures, which is why it is our default for shops. Workshop Red works for Sale and Clearance, and Cobalt Blue for customer-service spots like Hold and Pickup. Each set prints in one color, so build one set per color in the builder; the 5-label minimum applies to the whole order.
Retail Shop label sets
Ready-made sets of the words this trade labels most, grouped by where they go. Each set opens in the builder with every label in place; add, remove or retype any of them before you order.

Retail Shop label questions
Will magnetic labels stick to gondola shelving?
Yes. Gondola uprights, shelf edges and back panels are steel, so the exposed N52 magnets grip directly and can be moved with every floor set.
Do they leave residue on the fixtures?
No. The magnet holds the label; there is no adhesive unless you choose the 3M VHB backing for a non-magnetic fixture.
Can I use them on wood or acrylic displays?
Magnets do not stick to wood, acrylic or glass. Choose the 3M VHB adhesive backing in the builder for those fixtures.
How long can a label be?
Up to 12 characters, and the real limit is printed width, up to 243 mm. The builder checks every word live before you order.
Can I order labels for several stores at once?
Yes. There is no maximum order, and labels past 25 and past 50 cost less per label. Each set prints in one color; mix sets in one order.
