Custom Restaurant Labels
A restaurant floor runs on things being where the last shift left them: the ramekins at the server station, the lids by the to-go bags, the kids menus at the host stand. When a new server starts on a Friday, the labels do the training. Ours are solid 3D-printed labels with heavy white lettering on a solid color field and exposed N52 magnets on the back, so they read from across the dining room and move the moment you reorganize a station.
What to label in the front of the house
Start with the server station, because it is the shelf every server touches a hundred times a night. Label the slots for Silverware, Napkins, Ramekins, Condiments, Sweeteners, Straws, Lids and Cups. When each thing has a named home, restocking takes a minute and a dropped ramekin never becomes a hunt.
The to-go line is the second station that falls apart under pressure. Give To Go, Takeout and Delivery orders their own labeled shelf or rack, and keep bags, utensil packs and sauces labeled right beside them. Third-party drivers can find the right shelf without asking, which keeps the host free.
Do magnets stick to restaurant shelving and stations?
Most back-of-house shelving is steel: chrome wire shelving, boltless steel shelving, steel storage cabinets, the sides of reach-in coolers and the walk-in door frame. Each label carries exposed N52 neodymium magnets that sit right on the metal, so they grip hard and come off cleanly when you move a station. Wire shelving gives less contact than a solid shelf edge, so put the label on a post or a solid rail where you can.
Stainless steel is the exception. Most 304 stainless prep tables and sinks are not magnetic, and neither are wood host stands, plastic bus tubs or glass. For those, choose the 3M VHB adhesive backing in the builder. It is semi-permanent, so use it for the spots that never move.
Dry storage and the walk-in
Dry storage is where a labeling system pays for itself at inventory time. Label shelves by category, Canned Goods, Paper Goods, Cleaning, Receiving, and keep an Allergen and a Gluten Free shelf that nobody has to guess about. Receiving gets its own labeled spot so a delivery never lands on top of the stock you are counting.
Our labels are PLA plastic and they do not like heat. Keep them off the hot line, out of the dish pit and away from fryers and ovens; the walk-in cold is fine, and so is a damp cloth or mild cleaner. They are not made for the dishwasher, for submersion or for direct food contact, so label the shelf, not the pan.
One color per station
Heritage Black reads cleanly against stainless and wire shelving, which is why it is our default for restaurants. A simple split that works: black for stations and storage, red for allergen and sanitizer shelves, blue for to-go. Each set prints in one color, so build one set per color in the builder; the 5-label minimum applies to the whole order.
Restaurant label sets
Ready-made sets of the words this trade labels most, grouped by where they go. Each set opens in the builder with every label in place; add, remove or retype any of them before you order.
Server Station labels
Magnetic server station labels for restaurants. Labels for the shelf every server touches a hundred times a night. When silverware, napkins, ramekins and condiments each have a named slot, restocking takes a minute and a new server finds everything without asking.

To-Go Line labels
Magnetic to-go and takeout shelf labels. A labeled to-go rack keeps delivery drivers out of the host's way. Give takeout, delivery and pickup orders their own shelf, and keep bags, utensil packs and sauces labeled right beside them.

Host Stand labels
Magnetic host stand organizer labels. The host stand collects menus, crayons, pagers and lost items. Label the drawers and cubbies so the stand looks the same at open as it did at close, whoever worked the door.

Dry Storage labels
Magnetic dry storage shelf labels for restaurants. Shelf labels by category make inventory a count instead of a search. Keep allergen and gluten-free stock on labeled shelves of their own, and give receiving a spot so deliveries never land on counted stock.

Walk-In Cooler labels
Magnetic restaurant walk-in shelf labels. Shelf labels for the walk-in that follow the storage order health inspectors look for: ready-to-eat on top, raw proteins low. The cold does not bother the magnets, and the labels move when the layout changes.

Restaurant label questions
Will magnetic labels stick to a stainless steel prep table?
Usually not. Most restaurant stainless is 304, which is not magnetic. Our magnets grip steel shelving, racks, cabinets and reach-in sides; for stainless, wood or plastic choose the 3M VHB adhesive backing in the builder.
What do restaurants label most?
Server station slots (silverware, napkins, ramekins, condiments), the to-go line (to go, takeout, delivery, bags, lids), the host stand (menus, kids menus, crayons) and dry storage categories.
Can the labels take the heat of a kitchen?
They are PLA plastic and soften around 55 to 60 C, so keep them off the hot line and out of the dish pit. Stations, storage shelves and walk-ins are fine.
Are the labels food safe?
They are not rated for food contact, so label the shelf or the station, never the food container itself. Wipe them with a damp cloth or a mild cleaner.
How fast can I get labels for a new location?
Each set is printed to order in the USA and ships in 3 to 5 business days with free US shipping. Build the set online and see every label in 3D before you order.
