Custom Office & Admin Labels

Every office has the same three mysteries: which drawer the vendor contracts live in, where the toner is, and whose mail that is. Label-maker tape fades and peels, and nobody re-labels a drawer when the system changes. Our labels are solid 3D-printed parts with heavy white lettering on a solid color field and exposed N52 magnets on the back. They read from the office door, they look like they belong on the cabinet, and they move in seconds when the filing system does.

The filing cabinet, drawer by drawer

Steel filing cabinets are the best magnet surface in the building. Label each drawer with what is inside, Invoices, Contracts, Payroll, Tax Forms, Personnel, Clients, Vendors, and give Archive and Shred drawers of their own so old paper has somewhere to go. When the fiscal year rolls over and the drawers shift, the labels shift with them.

A To File and a To Sign tray on top of the cabinet, each with a label, turns the pile on the corner of the desk into a queue. Pair them with Incoming and Outgoing on the mail station and the whole paper flow of the office is visible at a glance.

Do magnets stick to office furniture?

Steel filing cabinets, lateral files, storage cabinets, lockers, steel desk pedestals, whiteboards and most metal shelving are ferrous, so the exposed N52 neodymium magnets grip hard and come off cleanly with nothing to scrape. The magnet sits on the surface with no plastic layer in the way, which is why the label does not slide when a drawer slams.

Laminate desks, wood bookcases, plastic drawer units and aluminum-framed cubicle panels are not magnetic. For those, choose the 3M VHB adhesive backing in the builder. It is semi-permanent, so use it for fixtures that never move and keep the magnets for everything else.

Supply closet, mail slots and the shared kitchen

The supply closet works when every shelf names its contents: Paper, Toner, Envelopes, Pens, Staples, Binders, Folders, Batteries, Cables, Chargers. Reordering becomes a walk past the shelves instead of a rummage, and the First Aid and Keys spots are where everyone expects them.

Mail slots on a steel sorter take a name or a department per slot, and the shared kitchen gets Coffee, Tea, Mugs and the two labels that end arguments: Clean and Dirty on the dishwasher. The labels are PLA plastic, so keep them off the toaster and out of the dishwasher; a damp cloth is all they need.

Color coding for departments

Heritage Black matches most office furniture and reads like engraved signage, which is why it is our default here. A simple split: black for shared supplies, blue for finance and HR drawers, red for anything time-sensitive like To Sign and Shred. Each set prints in one color, so build one set per color in the builder; the 5-label minimum applies to the whole order.

Office & Admin label sets

Ready-made sets of the words this trade labels most, grouped by where they go. Each set opens in the builder with every label in place; add, remove or retype any of them before you order.

Office & Admin label questions

Will magnetic labels stick to a filing cabinet?

Yes. Steel filing cabinets, lateral files, lockers and storage cabinets are ferrous, so the exposed N52 magnets grip directly and move when the filing system changes.

Do they work on laminate desks or cubicle panels?

Magnets do not stick to laminate, wood, plastic or aluminum frames. Choose the 3M VHB adhesive backing in the builder for those surfaces.

Can I label mail slots with names?

Yes. Names, departments or field headers like "Mail:" all work, up to 12 characters each (13 for a header ending in a colon). The builder checks the printed width live.

What about whiteboards and magnetic glass boards?

Painted steel whiteboards hold the labels well. Glass boards and most aluminum-framed boards do not, unless they have a steel backing; test with any fridge magnet first.

How fast do office labels ship?

Each set is printed to order in the USA and ships in 3 to 5 business days with free US shipping.
